Aims and objectives : * Laguage content : To introduce the students something, someone relating to family To enable them to know some occupation. To teach them possessive adjectives and their uses * Language function: To make them ask and answer about the occupations To enable them to tell about their families To help them speak more fluently * Educational aim: To make them aware of the members of their families and their occupation To teach them the love for working 1. Language : a.Vocabulary: doctor – nurse – engineer, my – your, his - their , her - our b.Structures: What do they do? They are students What does he do? He’s an engineer 2. Skills : Speaking – Listening - Reading - Writing 3. Educational factor : Asking and answering about their parent’s occupations II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation : 1. Method: Communicative approach: 2. Techniques:Explaination, substitution, pair work 3. Material needed:cassette, pictures, word cards 4. Students’ preparation:collecting pictures, making word cards 5. Previous exercises: exercise 1,2,3,4 (page21,22) III. PROCEDURES IN CLASS : 1. Lead in - Asks the students to write complete sentences on the board with the given words Ex: Name / Minh He / fifty Name / Lan She / forty two Name / Ha He / teacher -Remarks the sentences and then introduces the new lesson II. Pre-Practice -Shows them the picture of a family, sets a scone and asks questinons : + Who’s this? / + Who’s that? -Introduces some more words on occupations : ( using the picture) . engineer ( n) . cook (n) . doctor (n) . nurse (n) . worker (n) . policeman (n) . farmer (n) - Checks understanding of the new words: “ slap the board”. - Write sentences. While – Practice: - Plays the cassette and lets the students and repeat without opening the books. -Asks them to repeat the sentences individually the chorially. -Rereads the text and asks students to read by themselves -Lets them talk to each other about Mr Kien’s family. -Lets them do the grammar practice on page 36, 37 orally. IV. Post - Practice -Advises them to work a short passage about Mr Kien’s family. -Asks them to write other paragraph about their own families. V. Consolidation -Asks the students to sound the occupations the way to ask and answer about So’s occupation.
