A boy helped him and explained that he was a scout. This meeting led to the Scout Association crossing the Atlantic in 1910. Although scouting is mainly for boys, there are organizations similar to the BSA which girls can join. The Girl Guides Association and the coeducational Camp Fire Boys and Girls, both of which started in 1910, are two such groups. .
