( 3’) 1) He is the first human in space. - Yuri Gagarin 2) He is the first American astronaut to walk on the moon. - Neil Armstrong - Do you know anything about Neil Armstrong? - today we will find out some information about him and write a biography of Neil Armstrong TASK 1. Below is some information about Neil Armstrong, the first human to set foot on the moon. Put each of the headings in the box in the appropriate blank. ( 5’) Set the scene: You are going to write a biography of Neil Armstrong, the first human to set foot on the moon. First of all, put each of the headings in the box in the appropriate blank. ( 13’) Suggested paragraph: Neil Armstrong is an American astronaut. He is known as the first person to walk on the moon. He was born on 5 th August in 1930 in Wapokoneta, Ohio. He was a pilot in United States Navy from 1949 to 1952. Neil Armstrong received his B. S from Purdue University in 1955. In 1962, he joined the NASA astronaut program. On 20 th July, 1969, he became the first human to step on the Moon’s surface. He received his M.S from the University of Southern California in 1970. He resigned from NASA a year later. From 1971 to 1979, Neil Armstrong taught in the University of Cincinnati.
