education industry (Hemsley-Brown, 2006) As a result, there is now a global market for educational services, as well as greater rivalry to recruit students Higher education institutions have been compelled to adopt market-oriented tactics to separate themselves from their rivals and, as a result, attract as many students as possible as rivalry among universities has risen (Butt & Rehman, 2010) Universities have also recognized that their sector is a business-like service industry and have begun to focus more on meeting or exceeding their students' needs (Gruber, et al., 2010) University facilities, and their administration, play an essential part in accomplishing the university's goals by providing students and workers with an effective infrastructure as a foundation for university operations (Kärnä, et al., 2013) High-quality facilities have been proven to have a significant influence on learning (Lewis, 2000) Inadequate facilities have been shown to harm and diminish student motivation (Hassanbeigi & Askari, 2010) This study focuses on university facilities, and the goal is to develop such facilities in order to respond to the student's demands First, we investigate the relationship between student perception of university amenities and overall student happiness using empirical information from students at the University of Greenwich Second, we select the most essential university facilities and suggest solutions for improvement 2 Articulate a vision for change “Focus on facilities to advance education, knowledge, and wisdom for the good of society” The above statement represents the vision of change and it will surely make the students feel that going to university becomes a joy every day, contributing to their motivation to learn The report is divided into several sections The first is a statement of the topic, which will be extensively evaluated and backed by collected facts and relevant materials Following that, important stakeholders and how they may be affected will be explained The following section contains resources, opportunities for change, possible barriers, and advice on how to deal with potential conflicts of interest among stakeholders The final but most essential component is the leadership strategy, in which a suitable leadership style will be adopted to address this issue 3 Brief layout Firstly, the report will present the importance of facilities for teaching and learning through the results of the survey Following is a before and after view of the change through SMART goals and clarification of the roles, powers, and interests of the stakeholders Next is to suggest change, the sources and opportunities for that change, and how to balance the barriers that may arise In addition, it is also necessary to find solutions to settle disputes with stakeholders Finally, apply leadership style theory in this topic 2 II MAIN BODY 1 Statement of the issue It has been recognized that university facilities commonly play an important role in favorably impacting students and the various attitudes about facilities Furthermore, we performed a poll on the issue of facilities at the University of Greenwich with 106 answers and got proof indicating more than 50% of students are happy with the university's facilities but, at the same time, 32% of students are not really satisfied with the facilities at the university Therefore, universities need to have specific solutions to improve and maintain the university’s facilities to best serve the teaching and learning of students 2 Vision for change Good school facilities, regardless of country, contribute to student performance and the efficacy of a teacher's lecture The learning atmosphere is more engaging and accommodating thanks to the school administrators' determination and the ongoing upgrades and innovations of school facilities Teachers will be better equipped to respond to changing educational requirements of their students if they have adequate facilities (If, et al., 2003) This report demonstrates that school facilities have an influence on students' and instructors' overall school experiences Teacher recruitment and retention are influenced by school amenities More significantly, they have an impact on student's health, behavior, and involvement As a result, having appropriate facilities makes it simpler for the school to provide higher-quality instruction Based on the experts' research, it can be demonstrated that students in the school are in desperate need of change in order to be more confident and active in the learning process We propose measures to remedy this deficiency, such as the university collaborating with stakeholders such as teachers and staff to learn more about students' needs In addition, the university should coordinate with other businesses to improve and maintain university facilities SMART goals application to better analyze the vision for change Specific: The objective is to improve and sustain the quality of learning and teaching facilities Measurable: At least once a month, the university should conduct an effective audit of the management, usage, and repair of university equipment The university cooperates with external businesses to invest in the maintenance of university facilities Achievable: The university's current equipment is quite small; it can be checked once a month to improve the best quality To ensure financial resources, the university should cooperate with other businesses to maintain old equipment and provide new equipment Relevant: This improves the quality of teaching and learning Attract more students to the university and create a good quality of graduates Develop a monthly facilities improvement plan Physical infrastructure is a prerequisite to improve the quality of education and attract more students (Solvoll, 2015) Timely: After social distancing is the right time to implement this plan 3 Key stakeholders Stakeholder analysis (also known as stakeholder mapping) is a method for identifying who are most affected by a business and how to communicate with stakeholders with different levels of interest 3 and power The majority of stakeholder analysis and mapping methodologies categorize stakeholders into one of four zones Figure 1: Stakeholder's mapping It is easy to see that students and teachers both have Low Power and High Interest They can vest interest and may express ideas to the university, but they have no practical ability to affect the endeavor in any manner Next is Academic Department, they have low interest and high power They have no specific interest or engagement in the endeavor, but have significant influence over it if they become interested Finally, Board of Director have high power and high interest They have vested interests in the endeavor as well as the power to create its success (or to derail it) 4 Resources and opportunities for change and how to balance this with possible barriers: Resources and opportunities for change Resources are service or other assets that is used to produce goods and services that meet human needs and desires In other terms, they are the inputs that are utilized to create something or to assist in providing a service Human resources, such as labor and management, are classified as economic resources, whereas non-human resources, such as land, means of production, financial, and technology resources, are classified as non-human resources (Grimsley, 2015) - One of resources of the university is that The Student Affairs Department always supports students in a timely and proactive manner The Student Affairs Department has done very well in such things as the management of educational and propaganda activities; providing advice and support for administrative work and student management; organizing and managing cultural and artistic activities for students of the University of Greenwich; supporting academic 4 advising, alumni work and academic clubs for students And admission is easy without too many requirements, which is also a strength for the university - In addition, faculty who are dedicated, knowledgeable and versatile, can teach many subjects, know many skills Learning communities are being formed in order to improve learning and student-faculty engagement Opportunities are external variables in university environment that are likely to contribute to their success What's going on in the wider market outside of the university They can seize chances and defend themselves from risks, but they can't alter them Competitors, raw material costs, and client shopping habits are all examples (Kenton, 2021) - Training profession, teaching quality, learning environment, career opportunities are the reasons that many students have chosen International University as the next stop on their study path With economical costs, commitment to English output standards and international qualifications, this is considered as a method of studying abroad for students However, in Da Nang, many students still have difficulty in choosing the right study environment for them because there are very few universities with international standards This is a challenge for the students but also an opportunity for University of Greenwich to attract more students How to balance this with possible barriers Weaknesses obstruct a firm's ability to attain its greatest potential A bad brand, higher-than- average turnover, excessive debt levels, an inadequate supply chain, or a lack of resources are examples of areas where the business must improve in order to remain competitive (Dergisi, 2017) - Leases might include limits on how the building can be used, as well as early termination clauses, which limit the tenant's capacity to manage the rented space This leads to the inconvenience that students have to move many buildings when the contract expires - Parking on campus is difficult to come by, especially during rush hour The parking problem may be found all across campus They had to keep track of a lot of class schedules and activities as students and they must deal with parking issues on a regular basis This leads to the inconvenience that students have to move many buildings when the contract expires or problems Threats are factors that have the ability to damage a business Other common threats include rising material costs, increasing competition, a personnel shortage, and so on (Namugenyi, 2019) - Because University of Greenwich is an international school, 100% of the teachers are required to speak English fluently or are foreign lecturers Besides having to maintain current teachers, especially foreign teachers, they often have short working hours They need to constantly look for new faculty members as the school expands in the future 5 Additional incentives for change and addressing conflicts All stakeholders in a project will be given additional incentives to ensure a smooth and effective execution While students want the best facilities and must be worthy of their tuition fees, the University of Greenwich wants to save costs as much as possible Therefore, the school must have suitable guidelines in place to satisfy the requirements of students while also saving money In 5 addition to protecting and maintaining existing facilities to avoid damage, the school must collaborate with other businesses or generate funds to enhance the school's facilities The financial strain on university has increased as a result of COVID-19 However, it also creates new opportunities for collaboration and creativity University may use technology and data to cut expenses, enhance efficiency, and ultimately promote a dynamic campus environment by bringing in strategic facilities management partners (Wayer, 2020) 6 Leadership approaches The Path-Goal theory is a model that states that in order to achieve a goal, a leader's style or attitude must be suited to the person and work environment (House & Mitchell, 1974) The path- goal theory may best be described as a process in which leaders choose particular behaviors that are most matched to the demands of their staff and the working environment in order to best guide them through their everyday job activities goals (Northouse, 2013) It identified four different types of leadership styles: Directive, Supportive, Participative, and Achievement (House & Mitchell, 1974) Below is the application of Path-Goal theory to stakeholders: The first is lecturers, who serve as a clear connection between students and the university They are the ones who have the closest contact with students and are responsible for supporting them in their studies As a consequence, they are the ones who best understand the needs of students, which supports the school in identifying and meeting those needs So the leadership should be supportive and directive The leader with a directive leadership style knows exactly what has to be done, how tasks must be completed, and how to fulfill deadlines All of this implies that they give a framework for their workers to follow in order to do all of their tasks properly (House & Mitchell, 1974) As a result, this management style is more suitable for unskilled students who require supervision and constant monitoring while learning In supportive leadership, the leader pays close attention to what the employees require in order to perform successfully in their jobs Kindness and empathy characterize his personality It implies that lecturers support the university with respect and provide assistance when needed to help them accomplish their objectives For students, they need to cooperate with teachers and schools to achieve goals To finish the study program, they must attentively follow the teacher's curriculum and give feedback on the lecture They must also collaborate with the school to effectively use and maintain the school's facilities And make recommendations for the school to change and improve The leadership should be participative In this leadership style, the leaders believe that collaborating with their workers and taking their views into consideration during the decision-making process is critical (Talal , et al., 2013) This also suggests that students are receptive to debates and recommendations about how to attain organizational goals Employees in departments such as admissions, training, and student affairs who help students the most with school activities They are the ones that conduct student surveys and customize them to the requirements of the students The leadership should be supportive Leaders that practice supportive leadership treat their staff with respect and provide assistance when required (House & Mitchell, 1974) When students are dealing with personal issues or need a boost in motivation or confidence, this management approach comes in handy III CONCLUSION In conclusion, the quality of school facilities has two effects on students At first, a student's capacity to participate in various academic and extracurricular activities is limited by a lack of 6 facilities Second, a lack of equipment has a negative effect on teacher work satisfaction, which discourages them from teaching Path- goal leadership theory is applied in this topic to solve facilities problems After adopting this leadership style, students can feel that the school respects their opinions, creating motivation in the practice Besides, the school can attract new students and enhance its reputation
