factor Construction Industry is one of most booming industries in the whole world, especially in the develop countries This industry is mainly an urban based one which is concerned with preparation as well as construction of real estate properties Vietnam is one of the larger and more densely populated countries in the region Confirmed population figures are hard to obtain, but an estimate puts the Vietnam population in 2018 at 96.49 million, up from the 2012 estimate of 91.5 million and this figure would make the country the 14th most populous on the planet In comparison, Vietnam has a small surface area, and at 331,210 square kilometres (128,565 square miles), this is only the world’s 65th largest in terms of land mass alone.Those two sets of figures would suggest a densely populated landscape and that is the case to an extent For every square kilometre of land, there is an average of 280.6 people That number converts to 723 per square mile and overall, this becomes the 46th most densely populated country on earth And this make a problem for people in Vietnam, they have to be intelligent of management and construction of dwelling-house and public works HHK Joint Stock Company Searching for partners and customers - Executing customer service activities: receiving and resolving complaints and inquiries of customers about products; Executing customer care - Drafting contracts in accordance with regulations Drafting contracts in English for foreign clients - Implementating of paperworks which relate to the company's products and services - Executing tasks which are required by leaders of company - Drafting and saving documents which relate to Sales Department - Scheduling plans, business strategies in month/ quarter/ year - Planning out purchase of equipment and that the specialized construction works in the past years are quite stable Moreover, HHK JSC possesses a well-trained team with great ability to apply latest technologies into production and management One of the biggest advantages of HHK JSC is probably the staffs that is diligent and dedicated to works HHK JSC often gives amendments to internal management regulations in order to reduce risks, avoid losses, minimize operating costs and ensure the staff’s benefits During its 9-year development, HHK JSC has obtained a lot of experiences in projects which relate to specialized construction, constructions such as building the infrastructure of the new urban area Hop Chau, building urban and industrial area, Tu Minh, Hai Duong, However, it is necessary to frankly admit that there are also some obstacles that badly affect the company’s business efficiency Firstly, it is the staff of morale Sales Department does not encourage employees to emulate competitive results Secondly, the data management program is outdated It is difficult to manage the data of customers and project informations Finally, the time of completing paperwork is still slower than the plan This also affects the quality of work and the customer's assessment PART 2: INTRODUCTION MY INTERNSHIP IN HHK JOINT STOCK COMPANY Being recommended and allowed by English Department – Vietnam University of Commerce, I have gratefully experienced as an intern in Sales Department of HHK Joint Stock Company After one month (from 02/01/2018 to 30/01/2018), under the valuable support and instruction of managers and colleges in the company, I was able to apply the knowledge obtained at university into practice, meanwhile collecting basic information to complete the internship report 2.1 My assignment in my internship in HHK Joint Stock Company During the internship in HHK JSC's Sales Department, I was assigned by my former employees and my leader This relates to my major which I had studied at my university I think that this is a rewarding experience for my future job Since Sales Department had the function of advising the leaders of the company and doing business which relates administrative work and contacting with clients, drafting contracts, I was assigned tasks which related to this area by the manager Main tasks include: contacting with foreign partners and customers; drafting and saving contracts, documents which relate to the work of the sales department; resolving customer complaints Each assignment was given by the business manager and my colleagues helped me to complete the assignment  Contacting with foreign partners and customers This task relates to searching and contacting potential customers HHK Joint Stock Company directly executes business activities which relates to the field of specialized construction, business, consultancy services in the field of construction and architecture They have cooperation with foreign partners In projects, contacting with foreign partners is very important The informations that I collected by contacting partners or customers help the Project Department accomplish the work  Drafting and saving contracts For contracts of foreign clients, the English contracts is very important It should be close In my internship, I was assigned to support Ms Do Thanh Lam to draft two contracts which related to the interior design of the Singapore customers Based on previous contracts, I drafted a preliminary contract that was evaluated and edited by Ms Ha In addition, I was also assigned to archive documents which related to the field of specialized construction  Resolving customer complaints During the implementation of business contracts, it was difficult to avoid mistakes There were questions and complaints from customers Acceptance of complaints, questions and grievances was very important Complaints related to to the field of specialized construction These complaints and inquiries were received and my task is selecting and sending to suitable department to give the most appropriate solution After receiving the resolution, you contacted the customer again 2.2 Difficulties and experiences of my internship in HHK JSC 2.2.1 Difficulties of my internship in HHK JSC When I was working in HHK JSC, sometimes I also encountered difficulties The first is about administrative work The working environment at the company is completely different from the school environment Everyone is serious and careful to achieve the highest work efficiency Only a small error will cause certain consequences Therefore, work needs to be highly focused During the translation process, there were special words that were particularly difficult to translate and cannot find out the equivalents They were architectural engineering of words The lessons and the knowledge which I learned at school gave me a lot of benefits But reality and the knowledge of books had a big gap The application of knowledge was not easy Because I did not have any experience working in this field before, the application of knowledge I learned to work was difficult Finally, because of the lack of training time, I did not have a deep understanding of Sales Department's tasks and meet 100% of the company's requirements 2.2.2 Experiences learned from my internship HHK Joint Stock Company has a professional working environment After one month-internship, I learned many valuable experiences 10 Firstly, teamwork skill is very important Good teamwork skill improves work productivity Sales Department is a group which has young and dynamic staffs Each individual has a unique role and responsibility Tight integration and good teamwork help the Sales Department to be productive The second experience is computer skill In my internship in HHK Joint Stock Company, I learned to understand the features and functions of computer hardware I knew the implications of file sizes, memory constrains and network configurations I can proficiently use word processors, such as Microsoft Word, and presentation applications I can manage computer files using an operating system such as Windows to manage customer data Finally, when facing with difficult issues, I think we should bravely consult people We should not ignore them 11 PART 3: USING ENGLISH IN HHK JOINT STOCK COMPANY 3.1 The reality of using English in the company Nowadays, English has become the global language Among hundreds of different languages, the world has chosen English as a means for people to understand each other English is the official language of 53 countries and territories, the official language of the EU and the third widely used language after Chinese and Spanish The international events like the Olympics, global organizations, multinational companies consider English as common language of communication This shows the importance of English in all fields of economy, culture, society, etc In the past few years, Vietnam’s economy has strongly integrated into global one, causing increasing demands of high quality human resources that has not only a thorough understanding of specialized affairs but also good foreign languages and soft skills Nowadays, English plays an extremely important role in every enterprise It represents a key offering more opportunities to expand business scale, seek more investors, partners and exploit new markets from which improve profitability and production efficiency The company has lately started to seek and maintain relationships with foreign investors Employees of the company are thus trained to negotiate, write emails, communicate and conduct transactions in English Currently, more than half of them are able to fluently communicate and write in English, making cooperation with foreign partners easier than ever There are a lot of English documtents which relates to the building and architecture, so using English to translate them into understandable documents plays a very important role However, it is necessary to acknowledge that the English proficient staffs of HHK JSC are mostly students from English Departments of different universities, whose working schedule is unstable They only occur in a short time and rarely present in the office This hinders a lot when there has sudden work related to English Almost engineers, architects and office staffs are only able to read 12 specialized English but effectively communicate and write in such language These obstacles have many times caused company not to immediately reply foreign partners due to the lack of English proficient staff, resulting in decreasing the unit’s image in the eyes of international friends 3.2 Solutions Being aware of the negative reality, in my opinion, the leaders of HHK JSC should have solutions to improve English skill They had better plan out more English courses alongside professional knowledge training for all employees in the company Currently, it planned to connect with some English training centers in Hanoi to build up some commercial English courses Accordingly, the courses will focus on teaching English communication, negotiation, email writing, contract drafting in order to turn the language into an effective tool for the business HHK JSC ought to arrange to let employees take part in conferences on sharing learning English experiences held by domestic and foreign organizations, meanwhile support its best in finance, working conditions The company can apply more policies to encourage learning English by offering higher salaries to all officers and staffs so that it is easier and more exciting for them to participate in the activities 13 PART 4: PROPOSAL OF THESIS TOPIC 4.1 Name of thesis topic Difficulties in interpretation of students of English Department in Thuong Mai Unversity 4.2 Reasons of choosing this thesic topic There are reasons why you choose this topic to study The first reason is that I find that interpretation is a very important skill for English language students Since our major is business English, our future job will relate to English In the future, interpreting is promising Studying more informations about difficulties of interpreting that will be useful for future work The second reason is that I have encountered many difficulties while learning the subject of interpretation and practicing interpretation I want to study more informations about difficulties of interpretation to improve my interpreting skills The final reason is that many students in English
