The order Scopaeniformes is thesecond with 3 families and 5 species. Next, the order Pleuronectiformes has 2 families (4.1% of total families) and 7 species (6.3% of total species).

15 - 22/07, 23 - 26/9, and 21 - 24/11 We identified 110 fish species belonging to 49 families, 16 orders Among them, order Perciformes dominates in all grades with 27 families (53.4% of total families) and 70 species (63.6% of total species) The order Scopaeniformes is thesecond with families and species Next, the order Pleuronectiformes has families (4.1% of total families) and species Tonkin through the Mo mouth The Tien Yen estuary is characterized by high tide regime, covered with many islands and well developedmangrove ecosystems This creates a variety of aquatic species, including fishes In the estuary of Tien Yen River, there are many fishspecies with the high economic value In recent years, estuarine areas had been under anintense pressure from human activities, environmentalpollution, overexploitation or by means of destruction thosehave reduced fish biodiversity as well as habitats offish In 2012, Ta Thi Thuy conducted research on fish composition in the basin of Tien Yen and Ba Che river system, but consting offresh water and estuarine fish species The data from this study will contribute to the assessment of the current status, and changingtrends in fish biodiversity in the area of Tien Yen estuaryto provide local resources for conservation and development Scientific Journal − No27/2018 135 LOCATION, TIME AND STUDYING METHOD 2.1 Studing location and time Field surveys, sampling and field study were carried out in four seasons in the area of Tien Yen estuary in Quang Ninh Province: Period 1: from May 27 to May 31, 2016 Period 2: from July 15 to July 22, 2016 Period 3: from September 23 to September 26, 2016 Period 4: from November 21 to November 24, 2016 2.2 Sample collection and sample shaping Collection of all species encountered Large numbers for strange species, andsmall species For large, and recognizable fish species, specimenswere observed, photographed and identified in the field Samples were collected from all fishing gears, especially fish samples from fishermen within the study area Besides collecting specimens directly, we also bought fishes in local markets aroundthe estuary of Tien Yen River The specimens collected and bought were carefully checked for location, time and type of fishing gearto make sure they were caught in the estuary of Tien Yen River The fish samples were collected and processed according to the process, taking photos properly and numbering in the field Collected samples were kept in plastic bottles and molded, stored in 8% formalin solution We used the pencil and paper to record the location, sample time, local name and number corresponding to the photo before puttingspecimens to store in the sample bottles 2.3 Analytical methods The main documents used in the classification are FAO (1999, 2001) and Nakabo (2002) and some other relevant documents In addition, FISHBASE 2018 and the fishbase.org on website http://fishbase.org was also used for reference when identifying ecological groups and re-checking the in identified fish species The list of fish species is arranged according to the fish classification system of Eschmeyer and the updated electronic version of this document online November, 2018 The Vietnamese name (common name) is mainly determined by Nguyen Huu Phung and other authors (1994, 1995, 1997, 1999) Ha Noi Metroplolitan University 136 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION We identified 110 fish species belonging to 49 families, 16 orders The order Perciformes dominates in all grades with 27 families (53.4% of total families) and 70 species (63.6% of total species) The order Scopaeniformes is the second with families and species Next, the order Pleuronectiformes has2families (4.1% of total families) and species (6.3% of total species) The remaining orders have low rates of both families and species In particular, orders of these ones have only one species (Table and 2) Compared to Ta Thi Thuy (2012), this study found again 76 species,
