I forgot my password 47 3/49 IP Camera User’s Manual Download and install ActiveX You will need to install the ActiveX controls when connecting to your IP camera for the first time ActiveX Installation: Go to the webpage of your IP camera by typing its IP address into your Internet Explorer address bar (See Figure 1) Click the [Blue Text] to download the ActiveX plugin: Figure You can download the ActiveX manually by selecting the [Blue Text] or by selecting “Install” in the system prompt.(see Figure 2) Figure 4/49 IP Camera User’s Manual NOTE: If you are unable to install the ActiveX plugin and receive the window found in Figure 3: Figure Change the security level of Internet Explorer by going to: IE tools-> Internet options->Security->Custom level (Figure 4) Figure 5/49 [Main Stream]: Show the main stream of camera for the best quality [Sub Stream]: Show the sub stream of camera This is a lower resolution for better performance on a slower network [Snapshot]: Take a snapshot of the current image and save it in JPG format to the default image storage directory [Record]: Manually record video and save in x264 format to the default video storage directory If you are currently recording the icon is shown as: [Call]: Your mic will be transmitted to the IP camera Audio can be heard at the camera if the proper audio module is installed in the IP camera The following icon will be shown upon activation: [Listen]: Your PC will receive audio transmitted through the mic on the camera The 8/49 IP Camera User’s Manual following icon will be displayed upon activation: [Digital Zoom]: Manually click and drag a video display area to digitally zoom in on a specific area [Full]: Display video in full-screen Right click or press “Esc” on your keyboard to exit full screen mode [Aspect]: Click “W:H” to display the actual aspect ratio of the video, avoiding image distortion when stretched to the size of your display Click again to return to the default setting [Replay]: Display the replay window to search for and playback recorded files and snapshots [Alarm]: When there is an alarm you will see the following: Select [Alarm] to cancel the alarm message manually and display the log window The maximum message capacity is 512 entries When the number of entries exceeds 512, the system will automatically delete earlier records as new ones come in [PTZ]: Opens the PTZ window for pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris, preset, and wiper controls [Image]: Opens the Image Settings window allowing the user to adjust brightness, contrast, hue and saturation of the video in real-time 9/49 IP Camera User’s Manual Replay Click enter into video playback page (see Figure 9) Figure Search for recorded video or images on your local PC or storage device, organized by date [Image]: Select the aspect ratio to display video in the playback window [Storage]: Search for recorded video and/or snapshots in either your PC or an SD Card [Type]: Select whether to display all recordings, alarm-based recordings, schedule-based recording, or snapshots [File List]: Shows the recorded image files or snapped pictures searched in the File List The way to search for recorded image files or snapped pictures of a specific period (see Figure 10): 10/49 IP Camera User’s Manual 5.5.3 Snapshot Settings See Figure 36 for the “Snapshot Settings” interface: Figure 36 [Snap Interval]: Set the interval for scheduled snapshots, minimum interval is second [Schedule]: Set up to two timeframes for scheduled snapshots [File save mode]: Save scheduled snapshots files to an FTP server or send them in an email The FTP server can be set up in [FTP settings] After setting all the parameters, click Notice:When uploading pictures via E-mail, we recommend an interval above 30 seconds If snapshots are sent too frequently your SMTP server may start blocking the email 35/49 IP Camera User’s Manual 5.6 Alarm Settings 5.6.1 Motion detection See Figure 37 for the “Motion detection” interface: Figure 37 Users can set features such as motion detection on/off, sensitivity, detection time, alarm output linkage, alarm output duration, email on alarm trigger, snapshot/recording linkage, etc [Set Motion Area]: Left click and drag the mouse to set the surveillance areas (maximum areas) [All]: Set the entire video as a motion detection area [Clear]: Clear all motion detection areas [Sensitivity]: Sensitivity range is 1~5 A greater value means higher sensitivity [Enable]: Enable or disable motion detection [Time]: Set up to two timeframes for motion detection [Alarm Output Linkage]: Supports Email, IO output, snapshots, and recording [E-mail]: Send motion detection alarm messages to users via E-mail For more details, please refer to [Email Settings] 36/49 IP Camera User’s Manual [IO output]: Enable or disable the alarm output [Alarm output duration]: Set the duration after being triggered (in seconds), range of the duration is 0~86400s “0” means that there is no limit for alarm output [Snapshot]: When an alarm is triggered, snapshots will be saved to the device’s SD card The pictures can be sent via email or saved on an FTP server If the number of pictures taken at one time is set as 10, and the interval is second, 10 pictures will be taken and the interval between each picture will be second [Record]: When an alarm is triggered, recorded video will be saved to the device’s SD card The recorded files can be saved to an FTP server After setting all the parameters, click Notice:Record time is equal to the duration of the alarm plus the record time set in [Recording Linkage] 5.6.2 Sensor Detection See Figure 38 for the “Sensor Setting” interface: Figure 38 37/49 IP Camera User’s Manual Users can set features such as sensor type, detection time, alarm output linkage, alarm output duration, email on alarm trigger, snapshot/recording linkage, etc [Enable]: Enable or disable sensor alarm detection [Sensor Type]: Normally open or normally closed [Time]: Set up to two timeframes for sensor alarm detection [Alarm Output Linkage]: Supports Email, IO output, snapshots, and recording [E-mail]: Send sensor alarm messages to users via E-mail For details about E-mail settings please refer to [Network Settings] [IO output]: Enable or disable the alarm output [Alarm output duration]: Set the duration after being detection” interface: Figure 39 Users can set features such as detection on/off, detection time, alarm output linkage, alarm output duration, snapshot/recording linkage, etc [Enable]: Enable or disable sensor alarm detection [Alarm Output Linkage]: Supports Email, IO output, snapshots, and recording [Alarm output duration]: Set the duration after being triggered (in seconds), range of the  Notice:Record time is equal to the duration of the alarm plus the record time set in [Recording Linkage]  When a network failure occurs, E-mail sending and FTP uploading cannot be performed The pictures and recorded files will be stored on the SD card E-mail sending and FTP uploading will resume after the network has recovered 5.7 COM Setting See Figure 40 for the “COM Setting” interface: Figure 40 [COM Setting]: Used when the IP camera is connected to an RS485 (or RS232) communication or control device (e.x PTZ decoder) The settings on the camera need to be set according to the settings of the communication control device (address, protocol, baud rate) Notice: The parameters and protocol must match up correctly to use an add-on communication control device 40/49 IP Camera User’s Manual 5.8 System Setting 5.8.1 System Info See Figure 41 for the “System Info” interface: Figure 42 [System]: Displays device name, VO standard, device ID, and version After setting all the parameters, click 41/49 IP Camera User’s Manual 5.8.2 System Time See Figure 43 for the “System Time” interface: Figure 43 [System time]: Supports three methods to update the device’s time [NTP Server]: The camera will use an NTP server to update the system time [Synchronize with Local Computer]: The date and time of the IP camera will be synchronized with the local PC currently being used [Set the Time Manually]: Modify the time manually After setting all the parameters, click 42/49 IP Camera User’s Manual 5.8.3 User Management See Figure 44 for the “User Management” interface: Figure 44 You can set up to three users; Administrator and two other general users Administrator permissions: User can operate and set all functions and parameters of the IP camera General user permissions: (1) User can perform operations such as snapshots, recording, playback, talkback, monitoring, alarm clearing, log searching and zooming; (2) Use can perform operations such as viewing settings, local color adjustment, PTZ and lens control, etc Default user name of administrator: admin Default user name of general user: user \ user Note: user name and password are case sensitive Password: admin Password: user \ user Notice:User name and password must be 8-16 characters consisting of letters, numbers, underlines or dots The password is case sensitive 43/49 IP Camera User’s Manual 5.8.4 Upgrade See Figure 45 for the “Upgrade” interface: Figure 45 Click the [Browse] button, select correct upgrade file (.uot), and click [upgrade] The completion percentage will be displayed during this process After the upgrade completes, the IP camera will restart automatically Re-login to the device, enter the system settings page, and check to see whether the firmware has correctly updated or not Notice: Do not remove the power and/or connection to the PC where the firmware file is located while upgrading 5.8.5 PTZ Upgrade See Figure 46 for the “PTZ Upgrade” interface: Figure 46 44/49 IP Camera User’s Manual [PTZ address]: 1~255 [Protocol file]: Displays the built-in protocol name of current IP camera [Choose Upgrade File]: You can upload the decoder/camera communication protocol The system supports hundreds of decoder/camera communication protocols, it can also be defined manually according to the standard format of protocols After setting all of the parameters, click [save] 5.8.6 Restore See Figure 47 for the “Restore” interface: Figure 47 All device settings (including network settings, excluding the physical address) will be reset to the factory set values 5.8.7 Reboot See Figure 48 for the “Reboot” interface: Figure 48 45/49 IP Camera User’s Manual Clicking [Reboot] will display a popup to enter in the admin password You can also schedule the camera to reboot automatically 5.8.8 System log See Figure 49 for the “System log” interface: Figure 49 [Search]: Search the log and alarm log The maximum capacity of the log is 512 entries When the number of entries for 1-2 seconds, then let go Do this times The camera will restore all default settings (Factory Settings) Both the username and password will be reset to the default of “admin” IP camera audio/video function fails after abnormalities or abnormal power cut off during upgrade Solution: Connect the power cord and network cable of IP camera, press and hold the [RESET] button for 10 seconds The system will run the back-up program automatically After entering into the back-up program, proceed to try and upgrade the system again After upgrade completes, the IP camera will begin to work normally The back-up program offers only upgrade and parameter setup functions, audio and video functions are not available 47/49 IP Camera User’s Manual No video image displayed in IE browser P ossible reason: ActiveX not installed Solution: ActiveX must be installed when viewing the IP camera for the first time via Internet Explorer How to install: Open the IP camera’s web interface, click [Download the ActiveX Plugin], a file download dialog will pop up Select [Run] or [Save] to download Please reference the ActiveX install section for help on installing the ActiveX plugin IP camera fails to load via Internet Explorer after an upgrade S olution: Delete the browser cache Steps: Open Internet Explorer  Click “Tools”  Select “Internet Options”  Click the “delete files” button in “Internet temporary files” Select “delete all offline contents”, then click “OK” and re-login to the IP camera The video image doesn’t play smoothly P ossible reason 1: The frame rate of IP camera is too low Solution: Increase the video frame rate in Video Settings Possible reason 2: Too many users are viewing the camera Solution: Block some clients or reduce the video frame rate Possible reason 3: The bandwidth is too low Solution: Reduce video frame rate or video compression bitrate in Video Settings Failed to connect to the IP camera via Internet Explorer Possible Reason 1: Network is disconnected Solution: Check your computer’s connection to the network Try running cmd in Windows and typing “ping Camera’s IP Address” Possible reason 2: The IP Address is occupied by another device Solution: Connect the IP camera to your PC directly, reset the IP address and attempt to connect to the camera again Possible reason 3: IP addresses are in different subnets S olution: Check the subnet and gateway of both your computer and the camera Possible reason 4: The web port has been modified S olution: Contact your Network Administrator to obtain related information Possible reason 5:
