Aims - Vocabulary: revision - Main teaching point: Listen for specific information and further practise in past simple and past simple with wish. - Skills : + Main skill : Listening + Subskills : Listening, Speaking, Writing - Anticipated problem: ss may not listen well B.Objectives By the end of the lesson students will be able to listen for specific information to select the correct pictures and to use past simple and past simple with wish. C.Teaching aids Text book, pictures, a CD. D.Procedure 1/ Warm up? (5p) Jumble words GA:  tccah  catch GB  rkap  park  ondp  pond (ao)  rssag  grass /  rrubhmage  hamburger Divide class into two teams - Ask ss from two teams to go to the board and write down the correct words. - The team which is faster with more correct words wins the game. 2/ Pre listening (8p) Set the scene : “Jim is Jones ’ s Mexican penpal, Carlo is visiting the USA”. - Ask ss to look at the picture and tell the class what there is in each one, where the place is, what the people are doing. * Open prediction Tell ss what Tim is talking Carlo to visit some places. Ask them to think of three things that Tim and Carlos are doing. eg : They are going to the park. 3/ While listening: (10p) T.plays the tape. Ask ss to listen and check their guesses. - Give feed back. - Ask ss to listen to the tape the second time to choose the correct picture. Keys : a- 1 b 2 c 2. - Give feed back. 4/ Post listening (20p) * The past simple (10p) Set the scence : This is the conversation between Tan and Phong. They are talking about what Ba did on the weekend. T.reads. Ss point to the convresation and listen. Practice reading ( follow steps) Tan: What did Ba do on the weekend? Phong: He went to see the movie called Ghosts and Monsters ( Ma quỷ và quái vật) Tan: When did he see it? Phong: He saw it on Saturday afternoon at 2 o clock. Form: S + V qk ( V - ed ; V 2 ) Meaning : đã Pairwork: Ask ss to work in pairs to ask and answer question about what Nga, Lan, Nam, Hoa and ba do on the weekend.( use the table on page 11- ex1;ex2/11) - Set the scence: Lan and her friends are holding a farewell party for Maryam. Write the things they did to prepare for the party - Ask ss to use the words in the box and the pictures. eg: Lan bought flowers. * The past simple with wish.(10p) Set the scence - Ask ss to look at the picture and answer thr questions Is he tall? - No. What does he have in his mind? – “I wish I wewe taller” - What tense was used in the clause after wish? Past tense  Wish is used when we want really to be different and exactly opposite of the truth, eg : expresses wishes in the present  Form: I wish + S + V qk . - Ask students to look at the real situations and make wishes. 5/Homework (2p) - Make your own wishes. eg: I wish I could fly. - Do ex II- 4.5/7 VBT Ex – 4.5.6.7/10 BT . Aims - Vocabulary: region, currency, religion, compulsory, comprise. - Main teaching point: Reading the text for details. - Skills : + Main skill : Reading + Subskills : Listening, Speaking, Writing - Anticipated problems: Some ss get difficulty in reading. B.Objectives - Students know vocabulary accuracy. - By the end of the lesson ,ss will have some more knowledge about Malaysia - one of the countries of the ASEAN. C.Teaching aids Vn®ong, US $, poster (exa/ page 10). D.Procedure 1/ Warm up? (4p) - How many countries are there of the ASEAN? 11: Indo, Malay, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos - What are they? C.Teaching aids Text book, posters. D.Procedure 1/ Warm up? (4p) Chatting - Have you ever visited any places in Vietnam? - Where did you go? - How did you get there? - Did you visit any places of interest? - When you are away from home. Do you keep in touch? How? 2/ Pre writing (17p) Set the scence : “ Imagine you are visiting your relatives or friends in another part of Vietnam or in another country”.
