QUANG TRUNG SECONDARY SCHOOL  LESSON PLAN Instructor: Nong Thi Hai Trainee: Duong Thi Hanh Grade: 9A1 Unit 7: Saving energy Date of preparing: February 16, 2017 Date of teaching: February 20, 2017 Thai Nguyen, February 2017 Date of preparing: February 12, 2017 Date of teaching: February 15, 2017 Unit 7: SAVING ENERGY Lesson 4: Read Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Summarize the passage - Read for detail and answer the questions 1.1 Language focus: - Vocabulary: the lexical items related to the topic “saving energy” 1.2 Anticipated problems: Ss may have difficulties in summarizing the passage  Suggested solution: T helps Ss work with small passage before giving the best summary for all passages 1.3 Attitude: make Ss know more about how North American and Western countries save energy 1.4 Skills: read for detail, summarizing skill, work in pairs skill Teaching aids: text book, black board, chalk, poster Procedure: 3.1 Organization: 9A1 3.2 Procedure: Stage (time) Warm-up (5 mins) Interaction T-C Procedure ‘Good morning’ - Ask Ss to answer the question ‘Before we start the lesson today, I have a question for you What you usually to save energy at home?’ - Call on some Ss to give the answer - Mention the Western and North American countries ‘Those are our activities, right? So what about people in North American and European countries? What they to save electricity?’ Pre-reading (7 mins) T–C - Ask Ss to read passage quickly and underline the new words ‘Open your book at page 60 Read the passage quickly and underline the new words’ - Call on some Ss to share their new words and ask others explain if they know ‘Which words are new for you?
