B/ Spelling: ( Cách thêm “ing” sau động từ) - Động từ tận “e” (e câm) bỏ e trước thêm “ing” Ex: live living come Riêng tobe coming - being - Động từ âm tiết (hoặc âm tiết trở lên mà có âm nhấn cuối) tận phụ âm, có nguyên âm trước ta nhân đôi phụ âm tận trước thêm “ing” Ex: run - begin Nhưng: meet running beginning - meeting ( không gấp đôi t có NÂ e trước) - Động từ tận “ie” đổi thành “y” thêm “ing” Ex: lie - lying die - dying - Động từ tận “l” mà trước nguyên âm đơn ta nhân đôi “l” thêm “ing” Ex: travel - travelling gravel- gravelling C/ Usage: ( Cách dùng) 1/ Diễn tả hành động xảy thời điểm nói Ex: Please don’t make so much noise I am working Where’s Mary? – She’s having a bath 2/ Diễn tả hành động xảy kéo dài thời gian Ex: -What are you doing now? -I am cooking -At present, my younger sister is teaching English and (is) studying medicine (Hiện nay, em gái dạy tiếng Anh học y khoa) * Thường dùng với từ/cụm từ thời gian như: now, right now, at the moment (lúc này), at present (hiện nay) 3/ Diễn tả tình tạm thời Ex: I’m living with some friends until I find a flat (Tôi sống với vài người bạn tìm hộ) The telephone isn’t working this morning 4/ Diễn tả tình tiến triển, thay đổi (dù kéo dài) Ex: That child is getting bigger every day 5/ Diễn đạt ý tương lai: * Diễn tả việc xảy khoảng thời gian gần lúc nói ( ví dụ như: hôm nay, tuần này, tối nay…) Ex1: A: B: You’re working hard today Yes, I have a lot to Ex2: Are you doing anything this afternoon? (Anh có làm chiều hay không?) * Diễn tả việc xếp để thực hiện, có dự định trước (thường mang tính cá nhân) câu có phó từ thời gian kèm Ex1: A: What are you doing on Saturday evening?
