Week 19 Date of teaching: Thursday, January 17 th , 2013 Period 37 th UNIT 11 MY DAILY ACTIVITIES. Lesson 1 I. Objectives : By the end of this lesson, students will be able to - Ask and answer questions about time. - Ask and answer questions about daily activities. II. Teaching methods : ======================================================================== - Communicative approach. - Techniques: + Ask and answer (say individually) + Work in pairs/ groups. + Discuss. III. Teaching aids : - Teacher’s aids: student’s and teacher’s book, word cards, pictures, tape, cassette, puppets. - Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Languages focus :  Vocabularies: Get up, breakfast, lunch, dinner, watch, start, finish, late, in, on, at.  Structure: What time is it ? It’s seven o’clock. What time do you get up? I get up at 6.00/ At 6.00 V. Procedures : Time Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities I. Greeting II. Present the new lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Introduce the situations of the lesson by picture in the book. - Play the recording for Sts to listen and mime the dialogue. - Play the recording again for Sts to repeat the question and the answer in turn. - Divide the class into two groups. Have one group repeat the question and the other repeat the answer then change the role. - Look at the pictures and talk about it. - Listen and mime. - Listen and repeat. - Practice the dialogue in groups. ======================================================================== - Play the recording again for the whole class to listen and repeat both the question and the answer. - Ask a few questions to check their comprehension. 2. Look and say. - Ask Sts to look at the picture and describe. - Introduce new structure and teach the new words: What time is it? - It’s ________. - Explain the sentences patterns and their meaning. - Do the model and ask Sts to repeat the question and the answer. - Ask Sts to work in pair, asking and answering the questions. Objectives : - By the end of this lesson, students will be able to pronounce correctly the sound of the letter “ee” and “y” and to listen and read for specific information. - Develop listening, reading and writing skill. II. Language focus : - Revision the structures/ vocabulary. - Phonics: fifteen fifty III. Teaching methods : - Communicative method. - Techniques: + Work in pairs and individually + Ask and answer. + Work in groups, discuss. IV. Teaching aids : ======================================================================== - Teacher’s aids: pictures, word cards, extra board, tape, cassette. - Student’s aids: book, notebook, workbook.
