The OSU (Optical Sensing Unit) injects Infrared Laser pulses into Fiber Optic Mesh and it detects Optical echoes of the Infrared Laser pulses caused & backscattered by a cutting or excess force when an intruder pulls or cut off the Fiber Optic Mesh.  The ACS (Alarm Control Station) which is located at MCC (Main Control Center) receives the intrusion data from OSU and generates the audible alarm and pinpoints the intrusion spot. FOM Sensor System Operation Normal Break or Strain optical sensor cable IR laser pulse 4 ACS (Alarm Control Station) OSU (Optical Sensing Unit) OIA (Optical Intrusion Alarm) FOM (Fiber Optic Mesh) : Optical Fiber Sensor Cable CCTV System Software Accessories FOM Sensor Configuration ACS OSU OIA FOM CCTV camera 5 Feature of FOM Sensor False alarm free Virtually 100% accurate detection of intrusion Catch intruder view without missing at alarming Pinpoint the intrusion location Expensive Security Lightings to be replaced by Camera Lamps To avoid expensive Thermal Cameras Heavy & expensive fences to be replaced by cheap concertinas Heavy steel gates to be replace by light FOM gates Grooved Rods instead of Concrete Foundation Minimum control equipments Negligible Maintenance & Simple to operate by only one operator Applicable unlimitedly to fence, wall, gate, buried, underwater etc. 6 Unique & Cost Effective perfect Solution - 1 (1) Zero Nuisance Alarm • FOM Sensor is designed to eliminate the bugbear of PIDS(Perimeter Intrusion Detection System) – Nuisance Alarm. • FOM using Optical Radar technique is immune to all kinds of environmental effects such as vibration (wind, vehicle vibration, thunder, shocks), water (rain, snow, haze), electricity (lightning, Power Line, EM fields). (2) No Gaps, no compromise - 100% detection • FOM sensor do not compromise and overcome all the limitations of Vibration sensors (3) Accurately locates within 15m • Pinpoint to the exact location of breach for effective security management. • The human eyes have limited night vision range and only able to see up to 30m in twilight. • As such, the PIDS must be designed to address this human limitation and be accurate to pinpoint intrusion within the 30m accuracy. • With Fiber cable sensor, the accuracy is about the 200m range and this definitely not acceptable as the patrol is unableto reach the specific intrusion point to see and apprehend the intruder. 7 (4) Applicable unlimitedly by fence type and terrain condition • FOM can be mounted on any type of the existing barrier or free standing whereas other kind of systems is restricted to the type of existing fence. • For example, vibration cable sensors cannot be fitted onto a loose iron mesh fence or a rigid wall. • It can be only being applied on a high-strength iron mesh fence because the cable sensors require to sense the sound or vibration when the intruder cuts the mesh or scales over the rigid wall. (5) FOM is the effective measure against digging. • FOM can be applied without limitation by terrain condition providing effective anti-digging measures. Shallow digging can be effectively detected by inserting FOM bottom to Grooved Rod top in soil base ground condition. (6) Negligible Maintenance • For FOM Sensor, minimum electronic equipments are placed outdoors and does not need any adjustment or calibration to cater for weather change, hence the system requires negligible maintenance. Unique & Cost Effective perfect Solution - 2 8 (7) Reduce CCTV Cameras • With conventional PIDS such as Cable Sensor or Microwave, with accuracy if about 100m, fixed cameras must be placed at 50m spacing or PZT cameras at 200m spacing for effective coverage. • On the other hand, using FOM Sensor with the ability to pinpoint intrusion with an accuracy of 15M, PZT cameras can be placed at spacing of 400m. This will mean significant savings in the cost of CCTV system required to work effectively in conjunction with the PIDS. (8) Save Security Lighting • The site under protection by FOM Sensor does not need to have Security Lights ON at night unless intrusion happens. • No intrusion no nuisance alarm allows no need to have security lights. • Instead to have Security Lights ON, illuminators with cameras are preferred to illuminate at intrusion scene at alarming by FOM.
