Introduction: Background: modern control theories, computers with large memory, navigation Purpose/objective: to construct mathematical models of ship steering dynamics and design computer-based control systems for marine vehicles. Significance: verification of the control algorithms, design of computer-based control systems, and safe and economic navigation 3. Main contents Description: What is the proposed control system like? (manoeuvring characteristics, what tasks ) Method: optimal control theory, estimate procedures (or: neural network, fuzzy control?)
