(1)Week : 08 2016 Period: 22 2016 Date of preparation: 05/10/ Date of teaching: 10/ 10/ UNIT 4: OUR PAST LESSON 2: SPEAK I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + Talk about the difference between life at present and life in the past + Use the structure “Used to + V-inf” to talk about the things they used to II PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures, hang-outs III PROCEDURES: TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES 1/ Warm-up: (6’) Matching - Divide class into two groups, give each group a picture and ask them to match the correct activities, which group has more correct activities is winner - Lead to the lesson 2/ Pre-speaking: (15’) - Review the structure to talk about the events in the past, but now don’t exist Ex: In the past, people used tolive in the small houses Now, they live in the big houses 3/ While-speaking: (14’) - Ask Ss to work in pairs, looking at the picture and the words listed, talk about different between life in the past and now by using Used to STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES - Play game, match the activites in their picture + live in small houses + walk + play hide and seek + don’t have electricity + live in big houses + go by bike or motorbike + play videogames + have electricity - Listen - Remind - Work in pairs + People used to walk Now they go by bike or motorbike + There wasn’t electricity in the home Now there is electricity everywhere (2) - Call some pairs to present their result + Children used to play hide and seek Now, they play videogames - Present (each pair presents facts) 4/ Post-speaking: (8’) - Ask Ss to say the differences between life in the past and - Say the differences now - Have Ss practice, tell the things they used to last - Practice year + Last year I used to get up late Now, I get up early and exercises + Last year, I used study badly Now, I study hard + Last year, I walk to school Now, I go to school by bike + Last year, I used to play hide and seek Now I play videogames - Call some bad Ss to tell the things - Present 5/ Homework: (2’) - Ask Ss to - Write assignments + Study the lesson + Prepare unit 4: Read + Listen IV COMMENT: (3) Week : 08 2016 Period: 23 2016 Date of preparation: 05/10/ Date of teaching: 11/ 10/ UNIT 4: OUR PAST LESSON 3: READ - LISTEN I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + Understand the story “The Lost Shoe” + Develop their reading and listening skills II PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures (computer) III PROCEDURES: TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES 1/ Warm-up: (6’) - Ask Ss to look at the picture and match the names STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES - Match Snow White and seven drafts How the tiger got his stripes The lost shoe - Lead to the lesson 2/ Pre-reading: (14’) - Give meaning of some new words by using pictures I Vocabulary: upset (a): buồn phiền cruel (a): độc ác fairy (n): tiên magically (adv): cách kỳ diệu rags (pl.n): quần áo rách festival (n): ngày hội prince (n): hoàng tử - Guide Ss to read the words - Check : Matching Thanh Giong - Listen - Repeat, read then copy down - Read aloud - Do as directed (4) 3/ While-reading: (15’)  Activity 1: - Ask Ss to read the story, then task II Reading: Complete the sentences with words from the story: a) Little Pea’s father was a b) Little Pea’s mother .when she was young c) Little Pea to the housework all day after her father got married……… d) The prince wanted to .a girl from Little Pea’s village e) Stout Nut’s mother did not make .for Little Pea f) The prince found Little Pea’s shoe  Activity 2: - Ask Ss to answer the questions in groups in 3’, then play game “Millionaire” Answer the questions: 1.Who was Little Pea? What did Stout Nut’s mother make Little Pea all day ? 3.How did Little Pea get her new clothes? Who did the prince decide to marry? Is this a true story? (bad students) How you know ? 4/ Post-reading: (8’) - Give the moral lesson from the story: ONE GOOD TURN DESERVES ANOTHER - Teach some vocabulary to help Ss understand the listened story III Listening: Vocabulary: in amazement: kinh ngạc greedy (a): tham lam excitedly (adv): hào hứng - Have Ss listen and find out the moral lesson Listen: a Don’t kill chickens b Don’t be foolish and greedy c Be happy with what you have d It’s difficult to find gold 5/ Homework: (2’) - Have Ss: + Learn vocabulary by heart + Prepare unit 3: Write - Read, then task a) poor farmer b) died c) had d) marry/ choose e) new clothes f) lost - Work in groups, then play game She was a daughter of a poor farmer chores all day A fairy appeared and magically changed her rags into beautiful clothes He decided to marry the girl who owned the lost shoe No, it isn’t There is a fairy - Listen - Take note - Listen and choose the correct moral lesson b Don’t be foolish and greedy - Write assignments (5) IV COMMENT: (6)
